Dismissed bankruptcy
When a judge rules against a consumer's petition for bankruptcy, it is recorded as a "dismissed bankruptcy" on the consumer's credit report, as well as in the public records. Because the petition is dismissed, the consumer's debts remain outstanding. Sometimes a bankruptcy may be dismissed at the request of the consumer.
