
Glossary Term T – 100 Best Credit Reports
Tax lien
A lien held against a property for unpaid taxes. This prevents the sale of property. The property may be foreclosed for a tax lien.
Term
A time period, in this case referring to the amount of time in which a loan must be repaid.
Three C's
The three major criteria lenders use for determining creditworthiness are character, capacity, and capital.
Tradeline
A credit account listed on a consumer credit report such as credit cards, bank loans, mortgages, etc.
Transunion
One of three major credit bureaus in the United States.
Tribureau credit report
A credit report that combines the information from all three major credit bureaus to give a more comprehensive look at credit history. (see also 3-in-1 credit report or merged credit report)
Truth in Lending Act
An act that requires lenders to disclose certain information about the terms of their loan such as the annual percentage rate, total cost of the loan, interest, etc. This is part of the Consumer Protection Act.
